Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year!

by Anwar Al-Kalai on September 6, 2020

Asalamu Alaykum

I hope everyone is safe and doing well. I would like to welcome all of our students, parents, and staff to the 2020-21 school year. We are starting this year with the challenge of COVID-19 which is forcing us to change many things in our lives including how we run our schools. As I mentioned during our last general meeting, Al-Rasheed Academy will start online classes for all students on September 8th at 8:30. Classes will start at 8:30 AM and end at 3:00 PM with two breaks in between.  The first couple of days will be challenging for all of us, so I ask everyone to be patient and work together to make sure we have a good start to the school year. Students will be receiving calls or messages through Remind from their teachers and administrators to provide them with the access information to their google classrooms and Zoom live classes. All returning students should log in to their G-Suite accounts using their access information from the last school year. For new students, if you have not received your access information, this information will be provided to you through Remind messages or phone calls on or before September 8th.

I would like to highlight the following points for parents:

  • Make sure your children have the proper devices, internet access, and a quiet location to allow them to get the most benefit from their online classes.
  • Make sure your children are attending classes on time. Online classes will start at 8:30 AM and end 3:00 PM.
  • Make sure to supervise your children’s online activities.
  • Check your Remind messages for notifications from your child’s teachers.
  • Make sure your child has all the required school supplies. Our supplies list is on our website (Click here)
  • Your child should have a minimum of 30 minutes of physical activities daily.

Thank you

Principal, Anwar Al-Kalai
